We are pleased to offer this outstanding MG Midget 1500 which has had just two, related, owners from new. Clearly they have loved the car, so much so they embarked upon a restoration in 2002 that included a new Heritage shell and new panels.

Despite being restored nearly twenty years ago, the car remains in excellent condition suggesting that it has been dry stored and rarely seen the wet.

The interior is lifted by a set of leather seat covers, in the original style, and the overall impression is of a cared for car.

Performing well on test drive, the engine is responsive and the steering light in the tradition of the 'go-kart' like handling you'd expect from a Midget.

To restore a car to this standard would cost nearly £30K so this example offers great value.

For sale on behalf of our customer so therefore, without warranty.

Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn, by appointment please.

Bodywork

Straight and solid having had a new shell in 2002.

Mechanical

We assume that the mechanicals were restored at the same time as the restoration and it certainly feels taught and rattle free on the move, performance is good and both the clutch and gearbox work well and with no untoward noises.

Exterior

The paint finish remains excellent with a deep gloss and even coating, the bumpers are in good condition as are the lights, the wheels are after market minilite style and suit the car, the tyres are good.

Interior

The leather trimmed seats are an improvement on the standard vinyl and stop you sliding about, the carpets are good and the hood watertight, well as much as they ever are!

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
