1974 Triumph Stag AUTO - SOLD

We are delighted to be able to offer for sale this stunning Triumph Stag in outstanding condition. From the extensive history we can see that the car was restored in about 1995 and to a very high standard and whilst it has been regular use, has not accumulated many miles each year. There are invoices going back to the late eighties, including handwritten petrol receipts! A near continuous run of MoT certificates are in the file which support the current mileage and given the condition of the car, may well be correct.

The condition today remains impressive both inside and out and such a pleasure to see an original hardtop in body colour too.

Mechanically the car is spot on with a lovely V8 burble accompanying smooth gearchanges from the autobox, all in all a very pleasant driving experience.

The restoration receipts detail the work carried out in 1995 and it is testament to the professionals who carried out the work that the car remains absolutely solid now and with no signs of rot or grot.

Driving extremely well on test, the car is surprisingly quick but effortless having both power steering and automatic transmission. The lovely V8 engine is the quietest we've come across and it ticks over smoothly responding well to a dab on the throttle. There are no strange noises and everything seems in good order supported by a wad of invoices going back many years.

The paintwork is lovely having a deep even gloss with no obvious marks, the chrome is good with a few signs of age, all the alloys are in great condition bar a little corrosion on one. It really is an impressive looking car with the gold pinstripe accentuating the lovely Michelotti designed shape.

Easily the best Stag interior we've seen, the seats are in great shape and the colours work really well with the Carmine Red exterior, the veneers are all fine and although very 70's, it does feel like a luxury car.
