We are delighted to be able to offer this cracking example of the popular MG Midget finished in the most sought after shade of Brooklands Green with rare tan trim. To support the low mileage, there is a very detailed notebook that lists every amount spend on the car, what it was for and when covering the period from new. The car has clearly been cossetted throughout its life and has been garaged most of the time, evidenced by the condition of the bodywork.

Recently recommissioned and MoT'd, the car drives extremely well and performed faultlessly during a run down to the recent Goodwood Members meeting.

Cherished examples rarely come up for sale and we don't think that this one will be here long.

Available for viewing by appointment in our dry, well lit sales barn.

For sale on behalf of the owner.

Bodywork

The condition suggests that the car has never been restored, preserved by the extensive rustproofing that was applied when it was new. There is no rot or grot anywhere and the car is absolutely solid throughout. Panel fit is as per the factory and there is no evidence of repairs.

Mechanical

Just needing a couple of track rod ends and a thorough service, the car is 'on the button' and a delight to drive. Midgets are light and nimble, this one being no exception.

On the move it is free from rattles and shakes and all of the controls are light and precise, endorsing the view that these cars handle like go-carts.

Exterior

The car presents extremely well with bright glossy paintwork that appears to be mostly factory finish, the trim and limited brightwork is all good, the wheels have been recently refurbished and the tyres all have plenty of tread. The hood is the original, these always fit the best, with good windows that might benefit from a further polish - but you're only going to drive it with the hood down anyway!

Interior

Sporting the original carpets as testament to the car that has been lavished upon this car, the interior is in very good condition with a fully functioning set of dials and a roll bar just to add confidence. There is a working period radio cassette, so dig out you Bananarama cassette....

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
