We are pleased to offer this lovely example of the popular MGB GT finished in Teal Blue with Autumn Leaf interior. Being one of the last of the chrome bumper cars, it is fitted with overdrive, a heated rear window, hazard flashers, folding Webasto style sunroof and Sundym glass and was supplied new by Stewart & Arden Limited of Barnes, London.

The car has led a very sheltered life from new having had just four previous owners, the most recent of which has had the car for nearly 35 years, having bought it from a work colleague who had carried out a thorough restoration. Being dry stored for most of that period, it remains in remarkable condition, even down to the distinctive smell that BL/BMC products had back in the day.

Recently recommissioned by us, the car was driven over 150 miles without issue and it runs and drives superbly with an extremely quiet engine and a really nice feel to the controls.

Unmolested, the interior is delightful and the seats surprisingly comfortable, the sunroof adds a touch of open air feel and overall the car is very rewarding to drive.

There is a good history file with the car, two sets of keys, drivers handbook and an MoT (although exempt) until 2025.

The low recorded mileage appears genuine and is borne out by the overall condition of the car.

Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn, by appointment please.

Bodywork

Extremely solid car, there is a handwritten record of the restoration which included stripping all of the underseal from the underside. An inspection underneath showed no issues and with sharp, crisp definition to the structure, the panel gaps are all good.

Mechanical

Having been unused for a while, the owner asked us to recommission the car, it did not need too much but we've rebuilt the carburettors, services it and overhauled the brakes. As a result, it drives really well and the owner drove it back to us without issue. On the move it drives really nicely, pulling cleanly from cold and the ticking over when warm very evenly and remarkably quietly. The clutch is light and the gearbox precise with a smooth overdrive operation.

Exterior

Presenting very well, Teal Blue looks very attractive on a GT and this car is no exception. The paintwork is in good order and with a good gloss, the sunroof covering is tidy and all of the exterior brightwork cleans up well. The later Minilite style wheels suit the car and the car sits well.

Interior

Its rare to see this era of MGB with it's original trim, even rarer to see it in such good shape. The Autumn Leaf colour really suits the car and makes it feel very light and airy, it's also nice to see an original dash, the only departure being the fitment of a clock. The carpets appear as new and are of the correct style and colour. Overall, a lovely place to be.
