On offer is this striking MGB Roadster finished in Alfa 'giallo' (yellow) in excellent condition. The fastidious owner has prepared the car to an exceptional standard and as a result it is on the button and ready to go.

Being a very late chrome bumper car, it has all of the refinements found on these run out car, face level ventilation, rocker switches and many detail differences.

Beautifully set up, the car runs and drives very well, benefiting from chrome wire wheels and overdrive, parabolic rear springs and a telescopic rear shock absorber conversion.

For sale on behalf of the owner and available for viewing, by appointment please, in our dry and well lit sales barn.

Bodywork

Restored many year ago, the car remains in top condition with no evidence of issues and has clearly led a sheltered life. The panel gaps are spot on and the doors close well.

Mechanical

Starting with the engine bay, the car has clearly been well looked after with everything cleaned and painted, it starts easily and pulls like a train. The owner tells us that his local mechanic spent ages setting the car up and it shows. The clutch and gearbox are light and positive, the steering accurate on the move and the whole plot feels very 'altogether', one of the nicest we've driven for a while. The rear suspension has been uprated with a pair of parabolic rear springs and Gaz telescopic shock absorbers.

Exterior

The striking colour really suits the car and is complimented by the chrome wire wheels, the remaining chrome all in great condition. The hood is excellent and a pair of tonneau covers come with the car, the short tonneau to cover the hood and the full version for touring. There is also a useful wind stop.

Interior

In near perfect condition, the car sports the period correct 'basket weave' trim found only on later roadsters, the dash is excellent and set off nicely by an expensive Moto-Lita steering wheel, there is also a quality Pioneer stereo.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
