MG MGF Trophy 160 - SOLD
The Trophy 160 was introduced in May 2001 and named because the re-tuning of the engine resulted in its VVC engine producing 160 PS (158 bhp). Highly regarded by fans of the MGF models as it is probably the most exciting and most comprehensively re-worked MGF special edition manufactured. The specification includes lowered and stiffer suspension, AP racing 'MG' branded red coloured 4 pot brake callipers acting on significantly larger front brake discs, a new aerodynamic package consisting of front splitter and rear deck spoiler and that aforementioned engine.
Supplied in just two bold new colours for the 2001 model year, Trophy Yellow and Trophy Blue, the cars also sported a new style of 16" wheels and re-styled front head lamps. The interior has body coloured centre console and door trim inserts, plus coloured high-lights on the seats. With a limited production run and few remaining, the Trophy edition is a true modern classic.
Our car has seen gentle use, having covered under 32,000 miles from new with just 2 former local keepers and is in super condition. There are many receipts and old MoT certificates with the car, we have just completed a comprehensive service which included a reconditioned cylinder head and belts and the car will leave us with a clean bill of health and ready for its new owner to enjoy.
Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn by appointment please
Bodywork
In excellent condition that belies it's age, panel gaps are spot on and the car appears factory fresh.
Mechanical
Aside the replacement head gasket and belts, we have fully inspected the car and attended to any issues, a full report is available of what has been done. The car drives very well and the VVC version of the K series engine is a delight with real urge when pushed, allied to strong brakes and sporty handling, the car is great fun.
Exterior
You will get noticed in this car as the colour is as striking as the overall condition. The alloys wheels have been refurbished and the tyres are all good, setting the car off nicely. The mohair hood is in good condition and benefits from a later heated rear glass screen.
Interior
Again, a most striking feature of the car, factory fitted with yellow inserts, the interior is in good condition with minimal wear.
