We are delighted to be able to offer this superb GT which has been modified to offer extra performance and braking together with a modern Mazda 5 speed gearbox. The current owner commissioned us to build him his ideal B GT and if you were going to build a thoroughly usable GT, this would be it.

Extensive history demonstrates diligent maintenance throughout the life of the car, which has only had three previous owners, each of which have retained bills covering servicing and repairs over the years, much of the recent expenditure has been with us.

In lovely condition throughout, this car would cost much more than the asking price to build.

For sale on behalf of a long standing customer of ours.

All our vehicles are available for viewing in our dry, well lit storage facility which is nearby. Viewing by appointment only please, preferably Thursday, Friday or Saturday morning when you can assure you our best of attention.

Bodywork

In excellent condition throughout with good shut lines, bright and glossy paintwork with no signs of corrosion.

Mechanical

Less than 1000 miles have been completed on a reconditioned Ivor Searle Stage II balanced 1985cc engine and new Mazda 5 speed gearbox from Vitesse engineering. As you would expect, the performance is sparkling with a responsive throttle and sufficient urge to make this MGB fly. Uprated discs have been fitted together with harder pads.

Exterior

Sitting on a set of period looking Minilite style wheels, the car really looks the part with all of the trim in good order.

Interior

At huge expense, the owner had a complete retrim carried out by us in dark red leather with contrasting light blue carpets. In addition, the owner specified a wood rimmed Moto-Lita wheel. With so few miles since the work carried out, it is all in excellent condition, all the switchgear works correctly and on the move is quiet and rattle free.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
