In 2003, the previous owner decided that she was going to treat herself to an 'as new' MGB Roadster. At the time, respected restorers Meonstoke Garage would build you an MGB to your specification using a new shell and reconditioned components from a donor car. Fast forward twenty years and here we have that same MGB Roadster which remains in outstanding condition having been sparingly used and mostly dry stored. The evidence of the quality of the build remains with the underside paint still in good condition and many of the components still sporting their black painted finish. On top, the panel fit is excellent and the deep British Racing Green paint has a lovely gloss, the hood remains snug and watertight and overall the impression remains of a beautifully restored car. On the move, it drives very well, we have just reconditioned the gearbox and fitted a new clutch to ensure many years of trouble free motoring. Sat on desirable wire wheels, the car also has overdrive making it the ideal specification for an owner who wants to get out and use the car.

Bodywork

In excellent condition with the panel fit you would expect from a new Heritage shell.

Mechanical

The car performed brilliantly on the local test drive with sprightly performance and a delightful gear change that you only get with the 3 syncro boxes of the earlier cars.

Exterior

Some cars just look right and this is one of those. Having been restored some time ago, the car has taken on a lovely patina and looks great from every angle. The hood is in fine order and all of the trim and brightwork is in good condition.

Interior

Benefiting from new seat covers and carpets, the interior is in lovely condition, everything works as it should and the controls are light and easy to use.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
