This superb example must be one of the lowest mileage MGB's available anywhere and especially rare in LE trim, one of just 420 examples built. The MGB LE announced in October 1980 alongside the GT LE version went on sale at £6,108 with the GT at £6,576. The top speed had changed little in 18 years with a quoted reduction to 105 mph and a 0 to 60 mph time that remained the same. Maximum power quoted to DIN standard was 97 bhp @ 5,500 rpm.

This example has been used sparingly by its former owners who have clearly cherished it.

The mileage now is just 10,800 miles from new, supported by a thick history file and supporting MoT certificates.

We have known and serviced the car for many years and it drives as well as you would expect for such a low mileage car.

Can only appreciate in value.

Bodywork

The bodywork is in excellent condition with no significant marks or dings anywhere, we have just refreshed the stripes as they had faded a little.

Mechanical

With an extremely quiet engine, by MGB standards, the car starts easily and performs really well on the road with an excellent ride and no knocks, bangs or rattles - as close as you can get to how a new MGB would have felt.

Exterior

Free from damage, the exterior presents really well with the car having been dry stored for many years the bumpers are in great shape, all of the lights, trim and fittings are excellent. The hood appears to be the original but it is in excellent condition, the wire wheels are free from damage.

Interior

For the true '80s experience, the orange 'deck chair' trim has been left alone and really adds to the period charm of this remarkable motor car. All of the switchgear and instrumentations works perfectly, there's even a period radio cassette player.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?
