1990 Rover Metro 1.4Si - SOLD

An absolute time warp, this delightful Rover Metro has come to us from a local owner who bought the car new from Lex Mead in Maidenhead in June 1990. The car has covered a mere 6515 miles from new supported by a wad of MoT certificates and service history. The owners manual, service records and welcome pack are still with the car as are the supplying dealer mats which have preserved the carpets beautifully.

As you would expect, the car drives perfectly and being the later K series engine, rare in 8 valve form, it is mated to a 5 speed gearbox and with reassuringly positive brakes, makes for a modern driving experience.

Recently pumped up, the suspension provides a very comfortable ride and makes light of the potholes and given the mileage, the car is taught and rattle free.

With a light interior and lots of glass, the cabin really is rather pleasant and being the Si model is treated to plush velour seats, pile carpet, radio, internally adjustable mirrors and central locking.

This must surely be one of the lowest mileage Metro's available and in remarkable condition. If you are considering a 'modern' runabout but would like something a bit different, this little wonder would make an excellent alternative.

Appears to be untouched since it left the factory with everything in straight and solid condition, underneath appears to still have the factory wax coating and in absolutely rock solid with no corrosion evident.

Genuinely pleasant to drive, the car performed really well on test with excellent handling, a comfortable ride and reasonably lively performance. The car will be fully serviced before it leaves us and although low mileage, it has been used regularly and kept in a dry garage when not in use so has not suffered the usual affect of UV.

Simply stunning and clearly cherished from new, the car is in excellent condition with just a few very very minor marks, the wheels trims are the originals and are largely unscathed, the bumper corners are unmarked and everything is bright and fresh looking. The tyres are original equipment Dunlop SP Sports and are old but due to garage storage are uncracked and remain pliable - would seem a shame to change them! 

Seldom have we seen such a well preserved interior on a Rover product. Clearly garaging has helped and there is little of the saggy fabric found in so many of the early 90's Rover cars.

The trim is all in excellent condition, as are the carpets, door cards and headlining.
