A wonderfully usable example that has clearly been cherished by its owner, presented in striking Sebring blue with navy hood and trim, this example is in excellent condition and has been lightly modified to make it reliable and great fun. Running a 1275cc engine on a single SU with disc brake conversion to make sure it stops! The car has a fibreglass bonnet but with additional bracing and a unique centre latch with interior release.

One to use and enjoy. For sale on behalf of the owner.

Bodywork

The bodywork is straight with a good even paint finish, not mint, but perfectly presentable with no visible corrosion having been extensively restored by the owner many years ago. The vulnerable bonnet has been changed to a fibreglass item reducing weight and the chance of expensive damage.

Mechanical

The car performed faultlessly on test, handling like the proverbial go kart and with a surprising turn of speed due to the upgrade to 1275cc engine and the Ford Type 9 5-speed gearbox conversion makes for more relaxed cruising on faster roads. The car has been thoroughly gone through by the current owner meaning it is ready to enjoy.

Exterior

All of the lighting equipment is in good order, it is great to see a car still on its steel wheels fitted with hub caps, the tyres have plenty of tread on them.

Interior

Recently retrimmed, the seats are in fine order and very comfortable in a minimalist way, new carpets have been fitted, the dashboard is in nice condition, as are the instruments.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
