A delightful example of a very early MGB Roadster finished in a most attractive pale primrose yellow colour. The car has come to us from a fastidious owner who has just returned to the UK from France where the car has been for a few years. The car retains it's original registration and included in the history folder is the original log book (VE60) together with an extensive history for the car. The car was fully restored using a dry state USA bodyshell and remains in excellent condition throughout. The history cover all expenditure since 1998 and demonstrates diligent maintenance.

The car drives extremely well and would be a joy to own.

Early cars demonstrate some delightful features not found on the later models and represent a great period for classic MGs.

Offering excellent value for money, it would be impossible to restore a car to this standard for the asking price.

Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn, by appointment please.

Bodywork

Despite having been restored some time ago, the bodywork remains in excellent condition.

Mechanical

The previous owner has not skimped on any maintenance and the list of work undertaken over the past decade is impressive with a few subtle modifications carried out to improve reliability including electronic ignition, stainless exhaust, Peter Burgess unleaded cylinder head and a Cat 2 immobiliser.

The car drove very nicely on test with sprightly performance, reassuring brakes and responsive controls.

Exterior

The car presents extremely well with very clean wire wheels, recent tyres and an excellent hood, all the chromework is good as are the lights and bumpers.

Interior

Virtually unmarked, the condition belies the time that has elapsed since the restoration was carried out. Everything works and the older style dials are a delight as is the period steering wheel.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
