Introduced in 1966 following on from the sales success achieved by the all new Roadster, the GT quickly found popularity due to it's practicality, relative roominess and well resolved shape. For a long time, however, the GT was overshadowed by the popularity of Roadsters and many GTs gave up their identity during Heritage shell restoration projects hence their rarity now.
Our example really is in fine order having been cared for by just 5 former keepers, the current one having owned the car for over 10 years. The history is extensive with a copy of the original Ziebart rust proofing certificate, many old MoTs and lots of period invoices plus a list of former keepers. There is also a thick photo history which details a most comprehensive restoration which included both sills and various other panels followed by a professional repaint. The interior has also been retrimmed and looks splendid. On test, the car drove very well with responsive controls and the expected sharp handling.
As is often the way, enthusiasts are now respecting the qualities that the GT has and as a result good examples are most sought after and we don't expect this exceptional example to be here long so early viewing is advised.
