Rare in VVC form, MGFs are proving very popular with owners being very easy to live with and great fun to drive. Power steering makes them nimble at low speeds whilst also being great for touring, roof up or down. This example is in excellent condition and with a full history file shows diligent maintenance. It is great fun to drive yet is practical enough to use every day. Just reduced, this car represents fantastic value.

All our vehicles are available for viewing in our dry, well lit storage facility which is nearby. Viewing by appointment only please, preferably Thursday, Friday or Saturday morning when you can assure you our best of attention.

Bodywork

In well above average overall condition, the paintwork appears to be all original and without any unsightly dings, scratches or corrosion.

Mechanical

With a recent service and suspension overhaul, the car drives and rides extremely well. We've recently fitted a new battery making it a reliable and easy starter.

Exterior

All of the lights are in good condition, the headlamps remain bright and clear (often an issue with MGFs), the wheels are in good order and shod with recent new tyres.

Interior

The car was specified from new with 'Tartan' trim which is very rare but looks great with the silver exterior. All of the switchgear works correctly, the heater is really effective - great for top down motoring on frosty mornings.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • The K-Series engine can have an issue with its head gasket. Here at Beech Hill Garage every vehicle we change a cylinder head gasket on is fitted with one of our own "reconditioned" cylinder heads. Each unit is crack tested, pressure tested and face skimmed. By doing this we know we are fitting a good unit to your car. We use the latest evolution of gasket. This is a genuine MG Rover multi layered steel (MLS) gasket and stainless steel dowels. No other gasket will do.

  • An important part of owning certain models is the adjustment of the Hydrogas suspension. We have the right tools, environment and experience to make this routine.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
