MGB Roadster - SOLD
On offer is this outstanding MGB Roadster finished in Primrose yellow, black leather trim and black painted wire wheels. The car is fitted with overdrive. Manufactured in April 1969, the car was supplied to the USA and then returned to the UK in 1991 whereupon it was restored to a high standard by Hardwick Classic Cars. The car remains in excellent condition having been pampered by its last owner who bought the car from us in 2011. He has spent a considerable amount on the car including an engine rebuild, Aldon distributor and a rolling road tuning session. As a result, this lovely example pulls like a train and is a delight to drive.
One to use and enjoy!
If the black wires aren't to your taste, we have a set of silver painted wire wheels that we can fit as an alternative.
Bodywork
The Primrose bodywork is in fine condition with a bright, even gloss and no visible signs of rust anywhere. Panel gaps are good and the overall impression of an honest, solid car continues underneath which is clean and tidy.
Mechanical
The thick history file demonstrates diligent maintenance and as a result the car starts easily and performs very well with no untoward noises. The overdrive kicks in and out smoothly on both third and fourth gears, the brakes are good and the handling is sure footed aided by recent tyres and Koni telescopic shock absorbers all round.
Exterior
All of the trim is in good condition with excellent chrome and all lights in good condition and working correctly. The hood fits well and has clear rear windows, there are full and half tonneau together with the sticks
Interior
The last of the BMC era cars had a very desirable combination of modern fittings but with the feel of the earlier cars with their all leather seat facings and the aroma that goes with it. All switches function correctly and whilst not concours, everything is in fine order but with just the right amount of patina.
