MG MGB GT modified - SOLD
A truly stunning example that has been with the owner, a former BHG staff member, since the car was 2 years old.
Tasteful modifications abound, the result being one of the quickest, most tractable GTs we've experienced with handling and brakes to match.
The condition is superb, with lovely bodywork in a striking colour and a comfortable interior.
It would be impossible to build this specification car for the asking price, early viewing is advised.
Apologies for the quality of the main image...it was too sunny!
Bodywork
It outstanding condition with no issues, great panel fit and a lovely original feel to it.
Mechanical
The car is a revelation to drive and shows what can be achieved. The engine is a stage three conversion bored out to 1950cc with lightened and balanced flywheel, pistons, conrods and push rods, the sump is a baffled alloy item, it is running a 285 Piper camshaft, Aldon electronic ignition and 1 3/4" SU carburettors with ram pipes. The unit is producing about 120 bhp.
In addition, the car is lowered by 1 3/4" all round, the suspension has been polybushed all round with Spax shock absorbers front and rear, negative camber radius arms are fitted with a 3/4" anti-roll bar on the front and our own rose jointed rear together with a Panhard rod for axle location.
Brakes are grooved and vented with Mintex pads on the front together with Tarox grooved rear drums with Mintex shoes.
