A truly lovely MGB GT in an extremely rare colour offered for one year only, from a most particular previous owner who has cared for the car from 2009. Originally supplied new by Hallens of Cambridge, the car stayed in Cambridge with its second owner until 1981. The third owner had the car from 1981 until 1999, during his ownership the car was fully restored by the MGOC Workshop in 1993. Despite passing through a further 3 owners, the car remains in superb order throughout.

The thick history file details decades of diligent maintenance and includes the original passport to service.

Practical and easy to live with, this is one to drive and enjoy!

Bodywork

Despite being restored over 25 years ago, the bodywork and paint remains in excellent condition with no obvious issues, excellent panel gaps and fit.

Mechanical

It appears that anything that was required has been attended to and numerous worthwhile upgrades fitted. In the last eleven years the car has had various weatherstrips replaced, new propshaft, telescopic shock absorbers, brakes, single 12 volt battery, new radiator, cables, heater overhaul, stainless exhaust, new clutch etc etc.

Exterior

The colour really suits the lines of the car and you can be safe in the knowledge that if you attend any classic car shows, you are unlikely to see another! All of the chrome in excellent as are the stainless trims, the tyres are excellent and the Minilite style rims unmarked.

Interior

Trimmed in tan vinyl, the colour scheme echoes the Autumn Leaf trim that the car would have had when new but is far easier to live with. The dashboard has been upgraded to include a walnut effect facing, all of the gauges and switches all work correctly, an immobiliser is fitted and working. The whole plot is set off rather nicley by an attractive four spoke wood rim wheel.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
