A most striking example finished in mid metallic blue with black/navy trim, the car has been fully restored by an ex-welder/fabricator to an extremely high standard with full photographic evidence of the extent of the restoration. With a full history folder and only three previous owners, the car demonstrates diligent maintenance throughout its life and is running and driving superbly. It is a most desirable specification being one of the last chrome bumpered cars, with wire wheels and overdrive making it a long legged cruiser for longer journey aided by the chrome luggage rack on the bootlid to accommodate an overnight bag or the like.

Offered for sale on behalf of our customer.

Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn, by appointment please.

Bodywork

Fully restored and in excellent rust free condition throughout and with excellent panel fit.

Mechanical

The car performed very well on test, we've just replaced the rear telescoping shock absorbers with new Gaz items and the handling it now spot on, particularly through the twisty bits near us. It is an easy starter and quickly warms up, showing good oil pressure even at tick over, the overdrive clicks in and out smoothly and the car drives and performs as it should.

Exterior

Fitted with an attractive blue hood to compliment the body colour, the chrome and fittings are all in excellent order, the wire wheels were new during the restoration and are fitted with near new tyres, everything works as it should.

Interior

The car has been fitted with new carpets, the seats are supportive and the vinyl covering period correct and in good shape, the dashboard sports a walnut effect trim and there's a nice period Moto-Lita steering wheel to complete the ambiance.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
