MG TD - Reserved - SOLD
On offer is this delightful 1950 MG TD finished in dark green with contrasting red trim. The last owner had the car since 2012 and was an Octagon Car Club member.
Clearly doted upon, the car is in fine fettle and shows signs of regular and diligent maintenance including a recent pair of front tyres and all greasing points attended to.
There is a huge history folder going back many years.
The car runs and drives really well and would make an ideal entry in 'T' Type ownership.
For sale on behalf of the owner, it is available for viewing by appointment in our dedicated sales 'barn'.
Bodywork
The bodywork is straight and honest having previously been subject to a 'home' restoration to a good standard. All four wings are steel and show signs of previous repair but there is no visible rust and the woodwork appears sound, on the move it is largely rattle and creak free, the doors shutting with a reassuring click.
Mechanical
The car performed well on test drive proving an easy starter and after a period of choke settled into a steady idle, the clutch is light and the gearchange precise, the brakes are surprisingly effective and pull the car up within a reasonable distance.
Exterior
As you can see from the photos, the car presents well and sits nicely on a set of refurbished steel wheels together with correct hubcaps, all of the chromework is in good condition, there is a hood and sidescreens plus a useful bootrack.
Interior
The leather is in lovely shape with a lovely soft feel and a wonderful cover, the remaining trim is in excellent condition, as is the dashboard together with a full set of operating gauges.
Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.
We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.
