In superb condition, this properly engineered MGB V8 conversion was built many years ago and has been pampered by the last owner for over 20 years apart from a short period when the car went to Germany. Benefiting from a 5 speed gearbox, uprated brakes and suspension, the car drives extremely well with plenty of power and, of course, that wonderful V8 burble.

A thick history file comes with the car detailing expenditure from 2001 and shows that anything that needed doing was attended to.

The interior has been tastefully modernised, the uprated grey leather seats proving very comfortable during the test drive, electric windows and a modern stereo complete the ambiance.

It would be difficult to achieve such a pleasing result for the asking price.

The photos show the car prior to a full valet.

Available for viewing, by appointment please, in our dry and well lit showroom facility offsite.

Bodywork

Fully restored many years ago, the bodywork remains in excellent condition with well aligned panels and the addition of an expensive MGC sourced aluminium bonnet.

Mechanical

The car has just been through our workshops where it received a service and some new gaskets, it drives spot on and boasts a host of useful upgrades including a Spax rear telescopic conversion, radius arms, poly bushings and V8 brakes. The gearbox, we believe, is an Rover SD1 sourced item and is precise and smooth in operation, the steering surprisingly light, as is the clutch.

Exterior

Whilst not new, the mohair hood is in excellent condition and fits extremely well, all of the brightwork is in good shape with straight blemish free bumpers, the wheels are free from damage and shod with quality tyres.

Interior

Trimmed in grey leather, the seats are uprated items with larger bolsters which are more supportive and provide additional levels of comfort on long journeys, the dashboard has been upgraded with a walnut veneer and electric windows have been added. The carpets are high quality and a useful windstop has been added. In the unlikely event that you tire of listening to the wonderful V8 soundtrack, there is an untested CD changer in the boot.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.
