1956 MG MGA Roadster 1500 - SOLD

We are delighted to be able to offer this truly delightful MGA Roadster, finished in the most attractive colour of Glacier Blue with contrasting grey trim.

Supplied new by Beechwood Motors of Newport in October 1956, the car has had just 7 keepers in 60 years so has clearly been cherished throughout its life.

There is an extensive history folder with the car including the original RF60 vehicle registration book, owners handbook and the last owner, a well known and respected collector, has diligently reviewed and indexed all of the receipts which show that regular maintenance has been attended to.

The car drives beautifully and together with a lovely patinated interior, just feels 'right'.

Repainted many years ago, the bodywork is in fine order with no noticeable issues, panels gaps are very good for an 'A' with the structure feeling solid and relatively rattle free on the move. 

The engine and gearbox were rebuilt in 2013, since when the car has covered just 1,300 miles. There is a stainless steel exhaust and the car gets up to temperature without drama and displays good oil pressure on tickover when warm. Receipts demonstrate that regaular jobs have been attended to including work on the brakes and steering together with tuning to get the best performance out of the car. It had a 12 volt battery conversion in 2020 and now starts easily.

The overall impression is of a genuinely lovely car that has been well looked after. The hood is a recent high quality item together with the correct side screens, there is also a tonneau cover. All of the chrome and lighting equipment is in excellent condition and together with powder coated wheels and mint hub cabs, the car is really pretty - the colour really emphasizes what a great shape these cars are.

Supplied new with this most attractive grey leather trim, the interior is lovely with its painted dashboard and early car only, Jaeger instruments.

This car is fitted with seat belts.
