MG MGA MKII 1600 Coupe - SOLD
On offer is this delightful MGA Coupe 1600 MKII, a very rare and desirable specification. It is an original UK right hand drive car and comes with a Heritage certificate that confirms that it retains its original colour scheme of Old English White with red leather trim, disc wheels and a heater. The thick history file reveals that it was originally registered new in Dundee and has made its way south over the years with long periods of ownership in the North East, Norfolk and then more local to ourselves in Hampshire. We believe that the car was restored in the late nineties and has been used regularly as the many MoT certificates demonstrate together with the many invoices for routine servicing work. The car performed beautifully on test drive, the five speed gearbox allowing more relaxed cruising and being a Ford gearbox, a really slick change. The interior is in fine condition with really comfortable seats, the trim and carpets in very good condition without having that over restored look. One of the nicest examples we've had the pleasure of offering.
Bodywork
Restored many years ago, the bodywork remains in excellent condition with good panel fit, gaps and no unsightly marks.
Mechanical
The car drives extremely well, is quiet yet responsive and delightfully light and easy to drive. The five speed gearbox really helps when cruising and is typical of Ford gearboxes in that the changes are well spaced and it snicks in and out of gear effortlessly.
Exterior
Lovely older restoration, the paint and chrome remains in excellent condition, the grille and bumper chrome is all good and the entire exterior is bright and presents very well.
Interior
With a lovely patina, the entire interior has a wonderful period feel to it whilst everything works as it should. Specified from new with a heater, it is very comfortable and offers a great vista along the wing tops.
