In 1997, the owner of this fine MGB Roadster, decided that he wanted to build himself his ideal sports car. So he set about sourcing a donor car, in this case a UK MGB GT, and then bought a new Heritage bodyshell, painted in traditional Tartan Red.

The mechanical specification was specifically configured to give the best level of performance available at the time so he bought a 1950cc Stage 2 engine from MGOC which was fully balanced with a performance camshaft and a host of other sensible modifications.

The car was also fitted with an RV8 front axle assembly comprising uprights with ball joints rather than kingpins, ventilated discs and four pot brake calipers...the list goes on.

Suffice to say, you could not build a nicer 'B' for the asking price and this really is a great package.

Having spent many years in Jersey, the body and paint remain in great condition, the car will be UK registered by the time of sale on an 'N' registration.

For sale on behalf of the owner and available to view in our dry, well lit sales barn by appointment please.

Bodywork

The Heritage shell remains in superb, rust free condition having been liberally injected with Waxoyl and undersealed when the restoration was completed.

Mechanical

One of the nicest 'B's I have driven, the engine is smooth and flexible and with a surprising amount of urge, smooth overdrive operation, light clutch and impressive brakes. The history file includes all of the invoices for the work undertaken and we have a summary to hand.

Exterior

Topped off by a very expensive, fully lined mohair hood, the overall impression is impressive set off beautifully by the painted wire wheels shod with good Yokohama tyres. The paintwork is bright and glossy with only a couple of small marks, the trim all free from damage as are the lights.

Interior

The extremely comfortable Moss style uprated seats are supremely comfortable, the carpets are unmarked and the dashboard and switches are all in excellent condition, the electric windows are worth a special mention as they work as if factory fitted and are smooth and fast in operation.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner!  We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
