Purchased new by a Mr Poulson of Looe in Cornwall, this superb example spent all of its early life in and around Cornwall only moving to Reading with its last owner in 2009.

A previous owner carried out a major restoration and although well detailed, the main invoice is not dated but we assume to have been carried out in the late nineties. The car was comprehensively Dinitrol rustproofed at the time and remains in outstanding condition. The history file is extensive and will take some time to read through and appreciate how well cared for this car has been.

More recently, the last owner set about improving the car further to suit his needs and the result is a most pleasing example that looks and drives brilliantly.

With a light and airy interior, this is the ideal 'family' classic with spirited performance on tap but with an excellent reputation for safety back in the day.

Good examples of the P6 model are few and far between and in 3500S guise, rarer still so we don't expect this car to be here for long.

Available to view in our dry, well lit sales barn, by appointment please.

Bodywork

Superb condition throughout, not a hint of corrosion anywhere, excellent panel fit and no evidence of previous repairs.

Mechanical

The car has been kept in fine fettle but with subtle modifications to make the car totally reliable. The car has only covered 4,000 miles since an engine rebuild which included the rear main oil seal conversion, electric fuel pump, new tyres, electronic ignition, electric cooling fan, brake overhaul, rear suspension overhaul, various poly bushes, gear linkage etc etc, in total £7K spent recently.

Exterior

The fantastic colour combination of Almond yellow with a brown 'Huntsman' vinyl roof really suits the body shape and the whole car presents really well, all of the trim, brightwork and lighting equipment is in fine condition, as are the model specific wheel trims.

Interior

Subject to a retrim of the seats in 2021, the whole appearance is stunning with most items in near new condition, the headlining is superb and whilst appearing to be original, the carpets are in good condition. The boot contains a few spares, workshop manual and a host of P6 owners club magazines.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
