MG MGC Track prepared Sebring replica - £34,950
On offer is this superb Sebring inspired MGC GT which has been with the last owner since 2010. On purchase, the car had a full body overhaul prior to being built up as the track day weapon it is now, just 3 previous owners, old log books are with the history.
Fully stripped out and with a full cage fitted, it has a pair of race seats and full instrumentation, race car battery with isolator and an extinguishing system (not currently connected), full harnesses etc. Mechanically, the specification is detailed including a comprehensive engine rebuild with a lightened and balanced bottom end, stage 2 unleaded head and awesome triple Weber carbs with custom airbox, aluminium radiator and catch tank all sitting on huge Minilite style wheels and four pot calipers up front. Side windows and rear screen are all perspex. RnR built the car, their logo's still adorn the paintwork, and we're sure that they could give you a full run down if needed.
The receipts with the car total thousands, the owner being reluctant to calculate exactly how much he's spent over the years, and is now for sale only due to lack of use.
Offered for sale on behalf of the owner.
Available for viewing in our dry, well lit, sales barn by appointment please.
Bodywork
In excellent order, solid and without evidence of any damage.
Mechanical
A full breakdown of the specification is available on request, it is however, an easy and willing starter and after the customary pumps on the throttle, the beast of an engine roars into life. Due to the minimal ground clearance, road test options are limited. Due to recent inactivity, we are carrying out some recommissioning works including a brake overhaul. The car is fitted with an uprated 5 speed gearbox.
Exterior
With a striking appearance, the car really does look like the competition based car that it is, low and powerful.
Interior
Whilst being stripped out, the interior is all in good condition, the seats were new back in 2012 as were the harnesses so out of date but more than suitable for track day action. Everything works but it is noisy!
Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.
We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
The MGC filler neck is prone to change shape over time and lead to potential coolant loss. We redesigned it and now manufacture a replacement that solves the problem and looks magnificent in your engine bay!
