MG ZA Magnette - SOLD
It is rare to find a ZA in any condition let alone in this superb, restored example. Registered new to a Mr Dixon Pomfret Morris of Balham in March 1956, the car was specified in period Twilight Grey with grey leather interior, colours which it still retains. He clearly cherished the car and kept it for many years as is evident by the low number of owners showing in the current V5C. Within the history folder, we have the original RF60 green log book together with a photographic record of the restoration which included stripping the seemingly solid shell back to bare metal. Unlikely to remain valid, there is also a fuel ration book!
The car truly is a delight and must surely be one of the best examples anywhere, what better way to arrive at Goodwood Revival?

Bodywork
The accompanying photo album that comes with the car show that it was stripped back to bare metal prior to painting to a very high standard. There does not appear to have been that much corrosion in the shell suggesting that it has had a sheltered life. Panel fit is excellent and the doors shut with that delightful clunk familiar to owners of 50's saloons.
Mechanical
In the process of repainting the shell, the complete car has been stripped and all components appear to have been rebuilt, replaced or reconditioned. On re-assembly they have been cleaned and painted so the appearance is of a beautifully prepared vehicle. As a result, it is delightful to drive, quiet, comfortable and surprisingly sprightly.
Exterior
In the beautiful period colour of Twilight Grey, the paintwork is of an excellent standard with a high gloss and an even finish. All of the trim is in excellent order including the 'hockey stick' trim, chrome, glass and lenses.
Interior
Dominated by the wonderful dashboard, the whole interior has a delightful ambience with quality materials throughout, the light grey leather appears new and creates a lovely aroma.
