1962 MG MGA Coupe 1600 MKII - SOLD

Rare in MKII guise, this delightful MGA Coupe comes to us from it's long term owner who had it restored it between 2014/15. The car remains in remarkable condition with excellent bodywork and well resolved mechanicals. Benefitting from a rarely seen folding fabric Webasto sunroof which was fitted in the early 80's, this must surely make for one of the most desirable combinations, the practicality of a Coupe and the wind in the hair experience of a soft top. It is also fitted with a Ford type 9 5-speed gearbox for more relaxed touring.

It also has been fitted with an oil cooler, single 12v, an alternator and converted to negative earth, inertia reel seat belts, Kenlowe fan, Halogen headlights and a full scale oil pressure guage.

There is a thick history file with the car supporting the view that it has been cherished since being repatriated from the US in 1980.

In excellent restored condition, good panel gaps and overall extremely presentable.

We are currently fitting a reconditioned clutch/brake master cylinder and the car will be be fully serviced before leaving us. The clutch has been recently replaced and an invoice from the distant past hints at a fast road engine.

The paint finish is excellent, complimented by chromework that has a light patina but remains bright and presentable, good wire wheels that will have new tyres fitted by the time of sale.

Retrimmed to a high standard, the overall impression is very positive with a light and airy feel due to the all around glass, the dashboard in particular is most attractive and has been recovered to a high standard.
