Well known in MG circles, we are delighted to be able to offer this almost certainly unique MG Magnette MK III, generally referred to as the Farina shape. Supplied new to a Mr Benjamin Brunt via Carlton Service Station in Kenilworth, he must have been delighted to take delivery of this wonderful motor car. He specified the exterior colour of Cherry Red, only available for the 1959 model year, complimented by Crimson Red interior. He cared for the car for 23 years during which time he covered 13,300 miles. The next owner, Mr Frank Harrison, kept the car for 36 years but ony added a further 4,300 miles. The current owner has only added a few hundred miles to the total which must make this the lowest mileage Magnette in existance.

The car remains in outstanding condition with excellent bodywork, paint and interior. As you would expect, the car looks and drive as if it were only a few hears old rather than 60 plus.

Well documented history accompanies the car including owners handbook, invoices, sales brochures, in fact a whole binder full.

Totally unrepeatable, this car would be perfect for family outings to classic car events or perhaps a large picnic - the boot is huge!

Featured in the February 2020 edition of Enjoying MG, the car is bound to attract attention wherever it goes.

For sale on behalf of owner.

Bodywork

In excellent condition with no known corrosion, benefiting from some areas of paintwork refreshment it is bright and clean.

Mechanical

Delightfully smooth on tickover, the car drives wonderfully once you 'tune in' to the 1950's dynamics. It pulls well in all gears with a smooth clutch and precise gearchanges and is quiet and rattle free on the move. Handling is more sedate than sporting but is rewarding and easy to drive. Recent radial tyres help you to stop, steer and accelerate far more safely than might have been the norm when new.

Exterior

A strikingly handsome car, from and angle, the use of chrome helps the car stand out, all of which is in fantastic condition. All of the lighting is in good working order with no faded or broken lenses. The wheel trims and hub caps are all good.

Interior

Probably the finest feature of the car is the interior which feels like a gentleman's club with beautifully patinated Crimson red leather seats and red carpets, it represents a bygone age of quality cars of substance. The dashboard is a delight with excellent veneers and wonderfully quirky gauges.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
