Supplied new to University Motors on 4th July 1968, this lovely example was specified from new with wire wheels, overdrive, heater and pack away hood, all of which it still retains. An older restoration, the car remains in excellent condition throughout with a particularly good engine that feels torquey and powerful. There is a large history file with the car going back as far as 1988 and details of previous owners, ironically the car spending much of its early life in the Abingdon area.

The car performed very well on test showing careful attention to detail during the restoration and recent recommissioning by ourselves which included a replacement servo, unusually this vehicle is fitted with hydraulic power steering which helps at parking speeds.

One to use and enjoy.

For sale on behalf of the owner, fully inspected by us but sold without warranty.

Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn, by appointment please.

Bodywork

Older restoration that remains in excellent condition, great panel fit and no corrosion issues evident.

Mechanical

Runs and drives beautifully, working overdrive, light steering, needs nothing

Exterior

Bright and glossy Tartan Red paintwork, complimented by the silver wire wheels, good tyres, restoration photos in the history file. The boot rack chrome has suffered and can be replaced if desired.

Interior

Nicely patinated, seats are really comfortable, the carpets remain in good condition, original seat belts, lovely.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
