This is an all matching numbers Roadster. Originally exported to the USA in October 1968, following lengthy storage it was returned to the UK in November 2006. Completely restored from a rolling shell this lovely MGC is in near Concourse condition with a highly detailed engine bay.

Bodywork.

It was remarkably rust free due to lengthy dry storage. Panels replaced include new outer and inner sills, front floor pans and right-hand front and rear wings. The castle rails were solid and are original. The bare shell painted inside and out.

Mechanical.

The engine and gearbox have been fully reconditioned with approximately 500 miles use since restoration. The list of new or reconditioned parts is endless but the major items are:

• Complete Wiring Loom

• Head and Side Lamps

• Chrome Bumpers, Mouldings, Grille, and Badges

• Brake Master Cylinder, Servo, Calipers, Discs, Wheel Cylinders and Copper Brake Lines

• Clutch Master Cylinder, Slave Cylinder, Hoses Etc

• Petrol Tank, Pump, Stainless Steel Braided Hoses and Copper Fuel Lines

• Starter Motor, Alternator, Distributor (Fast Road) Water Pump

• Carbs, Manifolds, Big Bore Stainless Steel Exhaust System

• Steering Rack, Track Rod Ends, Column, Universal Joint

• Radiator and all Hoses.

Exterior

The panel gaps and paint finish are excellent. The new chrome wire wheels are secured with new two eared spinners and wear new Firestone 185 section tyres.

A new pack-away hood and reconditioned pack-away frame are included.

Interior

The original red leather seats were in such nice condition that these have been kept but all the rest of the trim is new including a top quality moulded carpet set. There are new period style seat belts with chrome buckles. The dashboard has been reconditioned in the correct black crackle finish and reconditioned instruments fitted.

Conclusion

This is a most attractive car in a classic combination of white with red and plenty of chrome. The overdrive gearbox suits the gentle yet torquey power delivery of the 3 litre straight six engine. The engine bay is a delight to look at; the engine is painted in the correct metallic green offsetting smaller details such as copper and stainless steel fuel lines and hoses, plated bolts and clips and all the black items have been powder coated in the correct satin black finish.
