On offer is this delightful MGB LE Roadster, recently recommissioned, in lovely condition and with an interesting history. Supplied new by 'Q' Garage (Ashford) Ltd, the history still retains the original passport to service which is stamped all the way up to 73,231 miles in 2002.

The car has had just two previous owners, the last of which owned the car for 35 years, the history folder is impressive and shows how cared for the car has been.

Once the closure of the Abingdon Works had been announced, the LE model was announced of which just 500 each of the Roadster and GT models were made. They were differentiated by a unique colour scheme with Roadsters being finished in gold.

This example runs and drives very well with working overdrive and strong performance having been extensively recommissioned.

For sale on behalf of the owner and therefore, without warranty.

Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn, by appointment please.

Bodywork

A very clean, straight and solid example.

Mechanical

Recent work has included a replacement head gasket and brake overhaul, the car was previously fitted with a 'Goldseal' replacement engine so, as you would expect, it runs and drives very nicely. The gearbox is slick and the overdrive works well, overall it is engaging to drive.

Exterior

Very clean and straight, looking most attractive on chrome wire wheels, the overall appearance is of a well looked after car that would look good at any classic car show.

Interior

Generally in good shape with some minor degradation of the drivers seat, all the switches work and the condition supports the mileage.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
