On offer we have this lovely MGB Roadster which has been fitted with an uprated Ivor Searle 2.0 litre engine, twin choke Weber carburettor and tubular manifold coupled with a sports exhaust. The car also has uprated grooved and drilled brake discs to cope with the improved performance.

There is a huge history file detailing work carried out over decades and it has clearly been cherished for all of its life.

Fitted with a period 'Works' hardtop, there is a soft top and frame, the seats have been upgraded to leather and usefully, there is a battery isolator fitted.

Overall the bodywork is excellent clearly having been restored in the past and remaining in tip top condition, there are also arch liners fitted at the front.

As you can imagine, with the upgrades, the car goes very well indeed.

For sale on behalf of our customer, without warranty.

Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn.

Bodywork

Very sound throughout with no areas of concern having been through our workshop.

Mechanical

After a period of lay up, the car has now been fully recommissioned and is 'on the button'. A couple of pumps on the throttle to prime the Weber carb and away you go!

Exterior

In really bright and tidy condition, the paint is excellent and the panel fit spot on, the chrome is good and all lights and lenses are in good condition.

Interior

This year MGB would have had vinyl covered seats but these have been upgraded to leather which have a nice patina to them, the dashboard paint is good, all gauges work well and the carpets are good. The hood condition hasn't been checked as yet.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.
