Rarely do we see such a wonderfully preserved example of the ever popular MGB, never painted, never welded, not restored, this lovely car is pretty much as it left the factory.

Owned from new by a retired engineer, he has cared for the car diligently with sparing dry use evident in the condition of the entire car. Despite being posted around the world, the car accompanied the owned so it is well travelled but the mileage has remained remarkably low. The original order form accompanies the car as well as the price list from the day and the original sales brochure.

My road test was a reminder of just how good a nicely set up 'B' can be, with precise steering, great engine flexibility and easy to use controls. It starts easily from cold and once warmed up performed really well and was a delight on the country lanes around us, the overdrive clicking in and out without fuss, firm brakes and responsive steering - all in all a delightful package and probably unique in this condition.

For sale on behalf of the owner and therefore, without warranty, but thoroughly inspected by us before sale.

Available for viewing in our dry, well lit sales barn by appointment please.

Bodywork

Arrow straight with factory spot welds still evident, factory panel gaps and no work required.

Mechanical

Drives extremely well, as a low mileage MGB should, easy starter with strong performance, nothing noted during our extensive checks.

Exterior

With factory paint that has clearly been looked after, a bright even gloss to the attractive teal blue colour, great chrome and everything looking in near new condition.

Interior

Outstanding original condition, the autumn leaf trim makes the interior feel light and reasonably spacious, the seats are the original but are still supportive and in fine condition, all of the instruments work well, it even has an original key.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.

  • If you are going to use your MGB for everyday use, for competition, or your current gearbox is giving you trouble then our Mazda gearbox conversion might be an ideal solution for you.

  • When you own a classic car knowing where to get the best spare parts is crucial. We have a dedicated Parts Manager who will track down the best quality and hardest to find part for your car, we like to call this Automotive Archaeology, if it’s available ... we will find it.

  • Classic cars are special, and we can provide MOT testing for yours.

  • We clean and air dry the underside of your cherished classic and treat with a choice of clear or black waxoyl.

  • If you need to store your classic car for a short period or more long term, wouldn't it be reassuring to know that it was being stored by a highly skilled professional team who love their work?

  • When your car is with us we have a wide selection of courtesy cars for you to use.
