As pretty  as a picture, this delightful MG Midget has come to us following a meticulous restoration. It is lovely to see a pristine Midget still running on steel wheels with hubcaps as it would have been back in the day. The overall condition is stunning both inside and out, the underside is just as good and not the usual patchwork like so many others.

The performance is excellent with typical 'go kart' like handling, a revvy engine and a short shifting gerachange, the steering is light, as is the clutch making it a pleasant and rewarding drive.

There is a thick history file with the car which includes several old MoT certificates and invoices relating to the restoration and previous servicing etc.

It would be difficult to restore a car to this standard for the asking price.

Available for viewing in our dry well lit sales barn, by appointment please.

Bodywork

In superb condition, the car has clearly been well restored as evidenced by the superb panel fit and the way the doors, boot and bonnet shut. The underside is exceptional with excellent floor plans and all of the chassis appearing rock solid.

Mechanical

Clearly every component has been removed, dismantled, cleaned and painted with care, it starts easily and idles smoothly once warmed up, the oil pressure is spot on.

We have just reconditioned the cylinder head and fitted hardened seats to suit unleaded fuel.

Exterior

The paintwork is lovely, with a deep lustrous shine, all of the trim is present and correct including the attractive early style rear lights. There's a little tarnishing to the rear bumper but it does not detract from the overall appearance. The wheels have been refinished in their correct cream and new tyres fitted.

Interior

These early Midgets are probably the most attractive in terms of trim combinations and this car is not exception. Fitted with period correct black seats with white piping and the different door cards boasting chrome window winders and pull handles. The carpets appear recent and the dashboard has clearly been refurbished.

Apart from our accurate and reliable description of this car we believe you will not find a better bunch of chaps to deal with; we know our MGs inside out, we won’t flannel you with sales speak and we aim to provide you with a car that you will be bringing back in a year’s time when the next service and MOT is due, no sooner! However, if you do have a problem we will stand by our car and help you in every way possible. We like to think that 38 years in this business counts for something.

We are in the quiet Berkshire countryside but close to the M4 and Mortimer Railway Station. Our local pub, the Elm Tree is just a few minutes’ walk away and serves fantastic food and proper beers. Call us to arrange a viewing and a test-drive and come and make a day of it.
